| I haven't updated this since 06 September 2006. So here's an update: I went to London in February to see a play. It was called "Love Song," and it had Cillian Murphy (Red Eye, Batman Begins), Kristen Johnston (you know her as Sally from Third Rock from the Sun), Neve Campbell (Scream), and Michael McKean (Spinal Tap and CLUE!) in it. I talked to all four of them and got their autographs for Lindsey. I met Gia, who writes the official Sunshine (it's the new Danny Boyle film) blog at http://sunshinedna.com, and her husband, Dr. Brian Cox, who is a physicist who works at CERN in Geneva and is one of the scientific consultants on the film. They are incredible people. I'm going back to London on Saturday. I have tickets to a private cast and crew screening of Sunshine on Sunday morning, and then to another screening of the film on Monday with a Q&A with Danny Boyle and Cillian Murphy after it. I'm not sure what's going on on Tuesday, if anything, but if not, I'll just be in London having fun. I'll get to see Gia and Dr. Brian again, and I think she's going to introduce us (I'm going with the girls from Sunshine Fan Online, http://sunshine.e-fan.org) to some people. She was on set for every day of filming and she has been very influential to the film and post-production process, despite her modesty. I'm really excited. I'm trying not to use exclamation marks because it'll just be distracting. I'm twenty years old now. And I feel old. I sort of wish I could just go back to 19. Nineteen was a good age, although the best things of my life, I think, are happening now that I'm twenty. We'll see. | | |
| Yeah, and then my camera died and I forgot batteries when I left to go out and catch my cab, so no more photos from today (although I guess I could take some now...). I did, however, spend $70 on a cab ride downtown and then decided that I didn't care if I got lost or if it was too dangerous, I was taking the subway back. Which I did. And still ended up spending $20 on a cab ride, but that is SO much better than $70.
I watched Red Eye on the plane up, but I didn't have enough time to finish it. I think 58 minutes was as long as I watched. But there was turbulence on my plane like in the movie, and I didn't even realize it until I lost my stomach when the turbulence on the film jostled Lisa awake, and then I giggled to myself.
No problems, though. The Wind That Shakes the Barley is sold out for both showings, but we're going to get there uber early on both days for rush tickets. Besides, it's a fun experience even if we don't get to see the film. It's nice just to be here.
I love it so far. I'm really pleased with everything.
I do, however, REALLY need to take a bath because I feel grody.
So, that's that. Hopefully we'll have some interesting news tomorrow!
| - "Tricycle" OHMYGOD, I can't sleep.
Hi, 3am? Yeah. Pretty much.
Also, I'm thinking that if I miss class tomorrow it won't be a big deal, because it's taught by this old man and I'll just be like, "Oh, I didn't realize I hadn't told you! I was out of town!" Because, really, tomorrow (today) is my last day in that class till I get back anyway.
Let's see, what's been going on lately?
Nothing much, really.
I went to class this morning, American Lit, and then sat in on the Brit Lit class after that because I love Ms Holder and they were going over Beowulf which I also love. I went to visit my dad, who said he had been thinking about maybe giving me some extra cash to take with me next week, and then I went to the theater and watched Beerfest. It was pretty funny. I mean, not like, crack my ass up funny, but I got a good laugh out of a couple of parts.
Came home and was exhausted, so I took a nap, and Lindsey woke me up in time for Big Brother, HAHA. That was so funny, 'cause I was all asleep and someone was talking and I was like, "BZUH?" and then I was like, "OH MY GOD, IS THIS LINDSEY?" HAHAH, I love it. And it apparently came up on caller ID because I checked it a few minutes ago and it was her name. That's funny.
Let's see. I rearranged everything for my trip next week, so everything is officially taken care of. I have my plane tickets all done (I leave on Sept. 6th at 11am and return on Sept. 14th at 6:35pm), hotel rooms done (Quality Hotel & Suites Airport East in Toronto and Embassy West Hotel, Conference Center in Ottawa), and then the train tickets from Toronto TO Ottawa (leave on Sept. 10th at 9:30am and then return on Sept. 14th at 6:00am). I think I have the 7-15th down for vacation time, so that'll give me the 15th to rest and everything when I get back, LOL. Apparently there's a showing of The Wind That Shakes the Barley on the 6th at 6:00pm and another on the 9th at noon, so I'm going to go to both. Tickets are like $15, which is AMAZING and not bad at all. And I keep going over what I'm going to say to him when I meet him. It's different from the GOF premiere. For that, the actors were just passing by and signing as fast as they could and there really wasn't a way to talk to them, but for Cillian it's going to be different (if I get to see him at all, even though I'm pretty sure I will). I'm going to ramble forever, I'm certain, but I hope it's a good kind of rambling.
I also really need to work on my American Lit presentation since Ms Holder wants me to do it on the 5th instead of when I get back. That's in like, a week. Eesh. But, I mean, this Cotton Mather dude was a priest (I think?) during the Salem Witch Trials. It ought to be interesting enough. I plan on working on that all day tomorrow. I also might go see World Trade Center with my Dad (and maybe my step-mom) tomorrow. We'll see. He never e-mailed me to let me know, so I dunno for certain. I guess I'll call him tomorrow and find out.
Well, anyway.
Every time I think about next week I get all jittery. The furthest I've ever been is New York City, but even in New York I knew Cousin Tony and Aunt Peggy and T.S. if something happened, and then the whole group of people who went with the HP trip and Bre and stuff. I'm going to be in Toronto for four days solid and I'm not going to know anyone. It's pretty exciting, though. It'll kind of give me an insight on how moving to a city will be. I'm nervous and twitchy, but excited and anxious. Like Jonas in The Giver. Apprehensive, I guess is a better word.
I think that since I can't sleep I'm going to start going through the stuff I'll need to take with me. Passport, birth certificate, copy of passport, autograph book, etc., etc. And make a list of stuff I need to get at the store. I should do that tomorrow since I'm not off again until the Wednesday when I leave next week.
I'm sorry for rambling about it, by the way, because I know that you guys don't care, but I'm just in a phase. And I promise I'll cut everything I write about it while I'm there (because I know that the first four nights I'll have free wireless Internet access) and when I come back.
Sorry for lack of updates and things lately, btw. I just don't want to write boring dieting/depressing stuff here, so it's mostly been going in my other journal.
| Just so everyone knows:
Just because I dated a girl once does not mean I'm gay.
I'm all about the penis.
| I had a really scary dream about sharks and how they had invaded some school (and I think the students were from like, Saved by the Bell--and me) and were swimming around in little vent things UNDER the school, and for some reason, we felt the need to swim there to get to the other side or something. WhatEVER. I am so not about swimming with sharks. My subconscious self is so much braver than I am.
I also dreamed, omgallah, that Megan and Chasity were over, except like, outside the window something was going on and JEAN GREY was there. E> Loves it. I remember my dream self thinking, "she has nice eyebrows," because hello, she totally does. But it still made me happy. I think it might have been part of the same dream, because the principal in the Shark Dream looked very much like Famke Janssen. Huh. Weird.
I watched The Break-Up last night. LAME. It was a waste of time. Although I did learn that Vince Vaughn can actually be taken as a serious actor instead of a complete idiot. Good to know, I'm sure.
Now I have to help setting up this stupid freaking American Legion Auxiliary yardsale. EUGH. I should gather up some crap to sell, but... I don't really have much of anything I want to sell. Books? NEVER. Clothes? None really to get rid of. DVDs? I only have the good ones. Sigh.
Stef's graduation is today, too. I find it to be ridiculously weird that my little sister is graduating. Also that her sixteen-year-old friend hit on Jen. HAHA, I feel like I'm connected to this entire state.
Meh, anyway, I guess that means I'm leaving. Tchao.
